Here is the problem with Orangeburg pipe from the house to the tank. Orangeburg pipe is made from bituminized fiber which basically means it is made out of paper. The life expectancy for this type of pipe is a max of 40 years. In this photo, the pipe had a root growing on top of it and it started to separate at the bottom, causing the pipe to clog anytime anything other than water was flushed down the toilet.
